Project Description
Seconds Out Boxing Tutorial #6
Rear hook AKA punch number 4
- The rear hook is very similar to the lead hook (the 3) except because of that staggered stance this punch has a greater distance to travel. When throwing this punch we need to commit to it but not bring our chest over our front knee and bringing us off balance.
- As we throw this punch we have to generate a big rotation on the hip by pivoting on the rear back foot and opening up that hook a little wider to make the target.
- As you reach around with that hook with your elbow up your shoulder will help you protect your chin. Reminder to keep that lead hand up to create a high guard to protect the face as you commit to this punch.
